Stefan Römelt, Senior Vice President (SVP) Engineering, Head of Aircraft and Systems and Head of Airbus Manching site of Airbus Defence and Space, he has held a variety of high-level management positions during an over 20-year career with Airbus Defence and Space, Airbus and its predecessors.
Prior to his current role, which he assumed in September 2021, Stefan Römelt served as SVP Engineering Cabin & Cargo and Engineering Senior Site Representative (ESSR) Germany within Airbus in Hamburg. Before he was Vice President (VP) Electrical Power & Data Management Systems at Airbus Toulouse.
He also held numerous positions within Airbus Defence and Space, such as VP Air Vehicle Engineering.
In 2001 Stefan Römelt began his industry career in Airbus Defence and Space’ (then-EADS) Military Aircraft division in Ottobrunn, where he was first a Systems Engineer Electrical Systems before being appointed as the company’s Senior Manager Aircraft Systems in 2006.
In addition, Stefan Römelt was an Army officer and is graduate of German Armed Forces University (Bundeswehr Universität) Munich, from which he holds a degree in Electrical Engineering (Dipl.-Ing.).
